Thai Beef Salad Pinterest

Easy Thai beef salad recipe, this Asian beef salad is made with marinated flank steak briefly seared, a flavorful dressing and load of veggies, flavorful, refreshing, low calories as well as delicious!

Who doesn’t like Thai Cuisine, with its hot, spicy and flavorful dishes, it is my personal favorite.

For this recipe, I marinated my cut of beef for about 3/4 of an hour. This step is optional, specially if you’re in a hurry, but if you have time try marinating your beef, it will tenderize and impregnate it with the flavors of the spices!

As for the beef cut, I chose to use flank steak but any cut of grilling beef will do. Now, this is an important tip that all the Asian cooks know, flank steak can be a little tough but if you slice it against the direction of the grain, your meat will be really tender.

As for the salad, go on and use the vegetables you have on hand.

Recipe :

Ingredients:

Beef:

8 oz. (250 g.) flank steak

4 tbsp. soy sauce

1 tbsp. sugar

1/4 tsp ginger powder

2 tbsp. lime juice

1 tbsp. sriracha or chili paste

1 or 2 garlic cloves, grated

1/4 tsp pepper

Salad:

7 oz. (2 cups) (200 g.) lettuce leaves, chopped

5 oz. (150 g.) bean sprouts

1 carrot, grated

1/2 red bell pepper, thinly sliced

A few cherry tomatoes

Salad dressing:

2 tbsp. lime juice

1 tbsp. fish sauce

2 tsp sugar

1 tbsp. sesame oil

1 tbsp. sesame seeds to decorate

Prepare the beef:

Make a marinade with the soy sauce, sugar, ginger powder, lime juice, sriracha, garlic and pepper, stir to dissolve the sugar, then pour it into a plastic bag, add the meat, massage it and store in the fridge for about 3/4 of an hour

Into a skillet, heat 1 tbsp. vegetable oil, when it’s almost smoking, add the meat and cook it to the doneness you like, I sear the beef 2 minutes per side as I like it almost raw in this salad

Set aside to rest for about 10 minutes before slicing thin slices

Make the salad dressing:

Whilst the beef is marinating, into a small bowl, add lime juice, fish sauce, sugar, sesame oil, stir to dissolve the sugar

Assembly:

Just before serving or the lemon juice will "cook" the lettuce, pour the salad dressing onto the vegetables, toss, adjust seasoning

Arrange the thin slices of beef around the salad

Enjoy!
