Salted caramel sauce, quick and easy to make.
This is a basic recipe that can be flavored to our taste or according to how you plan to use it.
You can use this caramel sauce to decorate your cupcakes, muffins, cheesecakes, ice creams, and so on, and so on…
I have used this caramel sauce into my Brownie Cookies with Salted Caramel recipe, click here for the recipe.
1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
6 tbsp (90g) salted butter, diced into small pieces
1/2 cup (120ml) heavy cream
1/4 tsp salt
Into a small saucepan, melt sugar on medium heat until it becomes liquid and a golden color (Don’t try to accelerate the process by increasing the heat, you could burn your caramel sauce, and also to avoid projections when adding butter and cream)
Add butter in one batch and stir until incorporated (Be very cautious, the caramel will very much bubble)
Add cream all at a time, again the caramel will bubble, and stir until incorporated
Add salt and stir
Pour the caramel sauce into a jar and let cool completely
Once cooled, store caramel sauce into the fridge up to a month
Once the heavy cream is incorporated, you can flavor the caramel sauce with a tsp of vanilla or espresso or any flavor you can think of
For further use of caramel sauce, just heat it up a few seconds into micro-wave oven before use
To clean up your saucepan and spatula, don’t worry, it’s very easy: boil some water, pour in into your saucepan and wait about 5 minutes, the caramel will completely melt and you will be able to effortlessly clean your saucepan
