Fava Bean Hummus pinterest

This fava bean hummus is very flavorful, I like to serve it with my pita bread, it can also be served on toasts, it’s a delicious appetizer on any party!

I used frozen fava beans for this recipe, cook them according to the instructions on the pack minus 2 or 3 minutes. You will need to remove the skin that surrounds the bean, it’s much easier to do when the bean is not too smooth.

Once you have cooked the fava beans and removed the skin, this is an easy and quick recipe where you just dump all the ingredients into your food processor, process and serve.

Do not make more than a few hours in advance though as it tends to brown on the surface, nothing that a good stirring can’t mend, the humus will still be delicious about 2 more days.

Recipe :

10 oz. (300 g.) frozen fava beans

1garlic clove, peeled and crushed

About 10 basil leaves

1/4 cup of chopped parsley or coriander

2 tsp lemon juice

Salt and pepper to taste

2 tsp Sriracha

1 tbsp. Tahini

1/4 cup of olive oil, more if necessary

Cook the fava beans according to the instructions on the pack minus 2 or 3 minutes, remove the skin on all the beans

Add all the ingredients to the bowl of a food processor, process finely, add more olive oil if that helps

Taste and adjust seasoning if necessary, make this recipe yours by adding more of the ingredients you like, whether more heat or lemon juice, etc.

Pour into a serving bowl, drizzle some olive oil on top
